In the old world, you were at the mercy of the draw. If you wanted a specific playstyle, you had to pray to the RNG gods for the right card.
That era is over.
In MPL 2.0, we’re shifting the power from the pack to the player. Instead of just building a deck, you will invest in your legends.
The Canvas: New Player Cards, No Limits 
Player cards are still the heartbeat of your squad, but they’ve evolved. Instead of pre-defined archetypes that box you in, every card is now a foundation to start building the player that fits your scheme. Whether you pull a Rookie or a Generational superstar, you decide who they become.
Higher rarities now unlock massive stat floors and more slots for our brand new badges.
- Rookie (Common): Your base card with no badge slots.
- Starter (Uncommon): One badge slot
- Veteran (Rare): Two badge slots
- All-Pro (Epic): Three badge slots and +10 stat bonus to some relevant stats.
- Generational (Legendary): Your new chase cards. These cards have three badge slots and one fixed badge that grants position-specific bonuses and an extra VFX on-field.
Note: Since the new cards introduce brand new mechanics into the game, you will need to start your team from scratch in MPL 2.0. But don’t worry, players who invested in their MPL 1.0 roster will receive packs of new cards to jump-start their new build.
The Power: Introducing Badges
If cards are the canvas, Badges are the paint. These are the keys to unlocking a playstyle that is uniquely yours.
Found in packs, Badges allow you to attach elite skills directly to your players. The higher the rarity, the more explosive the transformation.
- Uncommon: Grants +5 to one stat
- Rare: Grants +5 to two stats
- Epic: Grants +5 to three stats
- Legendary: Grants a total of +30 skill points across four stats. These badges are position-specific.
Build Your “Unicorn”
The new MPL system isn’t about finding the “best” card—it’s about finding YOUR best combination.
- Want a Human Cheetah? Stack three Speed badges on an All-Pro RB and watch him leave defenders in the dust.
- Need a Brick Wall? Equip your Middle Linebacker with multiple Tackling and Strength badges to shut down the middle of the field entirely.
When you field these players, you’ll see the difference. Badges will appear next to players so that you can understand their strengths.
Out with the Old, In with the Impact
To make room for this strategic shift, we are retiring the Personality Trait system. While the original intent was to create decision-making in your roster composition, synergies weren’t noticeable enough on the field. We’re replacing “subtle boosts” with absolute dominance.
We want you focused on one thing: executing your gameplan with players built specifically to win.
The Era of the Legend Begins May 5th
MPL 2.0 launches alongside Season 6 on May 5th. The lab opens soon, the badges are waiting, and the system will be officially yours to break.
